Course Description

Allows participants to achieve a better understanding of autism and Asperger's disorder. Offers intervention strategies to enhance communication and learning and to teach more conventional behaviors. Provides information on the learning styles associated with the disorder, communication weaknesses and various intervention strategies. Explains the mannerisms of individuals with autism spectrum disorders and ways to encourage more appropriate behavior. Lists resources for educators, related service personnel and parents who would like more information on autism and Asperger's disorder.
