Course Description

Drypoint is a rich and experimental form of non-toxic intaglio printmaking.  Prints are created using an etching needle on Plexiglas and rubbing ink into the incised lines to offset the image onto paper with the use of an etching press. Textures, tones, lines, and colors are built up in layers and can be printed in both unique forms or small editions.  Students will learn image building, wiping and printing, multiple plate printing, and chine colle techniques to produce a body of printed work.
