Course DescriptionThis course focuses on collaboration in a variety of environments and emphasizes constructive ways to use educator differences to serve students with special needs. The broad perspective covers the history of collaboration, ways to structure and implement collaboration teams, important processes and practices that ensure effective co-educator partnerships, and the external support that makes collaborative school consultation successful. Evaluation techniques, latest educational reforms, updated activities, and tools of technology provide a strong knowledge base that celebrates the strengths in personal differences. This course also emphasizes the roles of paraeducators, who are an important part of the collaboration, consultation, and team work process or students with special needs.
