Course Description

Students' learning is deeply impacted and influenced by the quality of their attachment and relationships to teachers and peers. Secure attachment and relationships ensure overall well-being and optimize learning by enhancing motivation, regulating anxiety, and triggering neuroplasticity. The course provides a classroom model of secure attachment, exploring how teacher-student rapport is central to creating supportive, "tribal" classrooms and school communities. The course covers vital and relevant topics such as stress and learning, reaching "unteachable students", and how social stress undermines both students and teachers.
