Course Description

This course is a must for educators ground-breaking approaches to comprehension reading instruction.  Using metacognition, comprehension instruction, and reading power strategies,  it combines a novel approach to make thinking more visible to students trough explicit instruction of five comprehension strategies:  connect, visualize, question, infer, and transform.  For readers who struggle, the course provides an integrated network of strategies that proficient readers use: providing a sense of how it looks and what it sounds like to teach strategic actions to struggling readers, using numerous strategies including checking and confirming, visualizing, questioning, and inferring.  Reading Power to Catch Readers Before They Fall is the consummate course in teaching reading at all levels of the reading spectrum.
