Course Description

Discusses the identification of physical, emotional, sexual and substance abuse. Considers the impact of abuse and neglect on student behavior and learning abilities. Informs educators of their professional responsibilities in reporting suspected abuse, assisting students who are victims of abuse and teaching students about its prevention. Also addresses support for students living in traumatic family situations.
