Course Description

This course takes an in-depth look at understanding, implementing, and adapting curriculum to fit the Next Generation Science Standards. As you read and reflect on the texts: "Translating the NGSS for Classroom Instruction “and” The NSTA Quick Reference Guide to the NGSS" you will examine your own classroom practice and apply new ideas for engaging students in science instruction.  You will learn how to adapt current curriculum and practices to align with the NGSS. Thank you for the feedback. It was great working with you! This course was a straightforward, yet challenging way to learn about the NGSS. I would not have given the standards the level of attention or thought that was required by you if I simply tried to learn about them on my own. - Spring 2017 Student

Thanks for another great class. The reading materials were excellent and the teacher-driven assignments were thought provoking and useful. I really appreciated this thorough introduction to the NGSS and your positive input on my assignments.  - Summer 2016 Student

Thank you so much for offering this class!  I know my depth of understanding is much better now, and I have the confidence to move forward with the NGSS in my classroom. The books and time spent reflecting were beneficial. - Summer 2016 Student
