Effective Independent Reading is Yours! was an amazing class. Most teachers do some form of independent reading throughout the day; whether it is called DEAR or SSR, either way, this course shows teachers why independent reading is important and how to improve upon it. This course showed me how to make independent reading time meaningful. I am already using many of the new strategies I learned with my own 3rd grade class. The book that goes with the course is an easy read, and the teacher had great feedback. I would recommend this class to anyone wanting to further their education. - Fall 2016 Student
I just completed the Independent Reading class with Krista Geffre. I'm not usually a fan of book studies, but I read the first section without even taking a break. It is a great read. it has truly helpful information and even humor. I feel like most text books can be so dry, but this book felt real and had the relevant information that will help me become a better, more aware teacher. Krista provided quick, helpful feedback on all of my assignments. When I had questions regarding the reading, she offered advice and ideas. I would love to take another class from her in the future. - Summer 2017 Student
