Course DescriptionTI-Nspire technology is a powerful tool for cultivating algebraic reasoning skills. Explore classroom-ready Algebra I activities to teach all students and align with Common Core State Standards. Topics covered are scientific notation, functions and graphs, linear, quadratic and exponential growth, basic trigonometry, one-variable statistics and data plots, central tendency, data collection activities, and matrices for solving systems of linear equations. Evaluate and reflect on current TPACK research to make effective use of technology in support of student learning.
Learner OutcomesUpon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of the TI-Nspire technology and learning mathematics in the algebra classroom.
- Create mathematics activities for secondary students using the ideas, skills and strategies in the activities presented in this course.
- Create an instructional unit incorporating use of graphing technology and align with CCSS standards.
- Design lesson plans that align with CCSS and principles of TPACK.
