Course Description

This course allows students to increase their comfort level with teaching and learning in an online environment. Students will be introduced to various teaching tips and strategies to consider when preparing for online teaching. Furthermore, students in this course will unpack the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards for teaching and learning in an online environment.  Essential Question:  How can I teach to ensure the learning of all students in a virtual learning environment and attend to my own well-being?


Learner Outcomes

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Describe several strategies for designing a cohesive online learning experience while maintaining work-life balance
  • Identify tools that are district-allowed for synchronous teaching, asynchronous teaching, and specialized purposes
  • Produce an annotated list of technology resources for their classroom context aligned to ISTE standards


This course is intended for current K-12 classroom teachers. Administrators and coaches could also find value in the content, but the course will target teachers as the main audience.

Course is self-paced. Completion time: up to one year from date of enrollment.
