Course Description

This course is designed to help you to create positive relationships with students who display challenging behaviors so that they are able to thrive under your instruction. As you read and reflect on the text "Lost and Found: Helping Behaviorally Challenging Students (and While You're At It, All the Others)" by Ross W. Greene, PhD, you will learn the basic tenants of the program, formerly known as Collaborative Problem Solving, and learn how to get to the root of student's struggles with meeting expectations inside the school setting, by working in partnership with the student. You'll learn that there's more to behavior management than incentive charts, punishments, or functional behavior assessments. At the end of this course you will have gained a better understanding of what CPS is and how to use its strategies to transform your classroom management style.

Grade levels: K - 12

Testimonials

“I took Collaborative and Proactive Solutions to Behaviors in the Classroom with Natalie Conway. It was by far the most useful continuing education class I've ever taken. From day one I was able to start to make a change in my classroom to better understand my students and work with them to come up with proactive and positive solutions to behavior! Natalie was quick to respond to my assignments with more suggestions and thought provoking questions to keep me learning. I would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to create a safer, more collaborative learning environment.” —TINT Student

“This is what I have been looking for over the past 10 years! I feel the most hopeful for my students that I have for a long time. I also feel hopeful for myself and the future teachers of my students because I feel that with this in my 'bag of tricks', that I can definitely begin working towards improving the quality of my teaching life and the environment in my classroom.” —TINT Student

“Thank you so very much for your quick and thoughtful responses. I very much enjoyed taking this class and reading your feedback.” —TINT Student
