Course Description

Participants in this class will learn how to conduct RIGHT RESPONSE Workshops. The focus of this seminar is to teach potential RIGHT RESPONSE instructors the teaching methods that would enhance the learning experience of the class participants. The course will cover the elements of prevention, de-escalation, postvention, and physical safety.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of the course participants will understand:

  • The definition of stress and recognize how we respond in a stressful situation
  • The stress cycle and that stress can elicit an Optimal Performance Range of response.
  • Strategies to manage stress and help find an Optimal Performance Range.
  • Intervention strategies for applying the de-escalation process.
  • Basic intervention strategies to use in the environment.
  • How to analyze incidents to better manage them in the future.
  • Basic movements, avoidance, repelling, and protection safety techniques.
  • Strategies to release from different types of assault and minimize injury.
