Course Description

In this creative and practical course, you’ll explore how sketchnoting — a powerful visual note-taking strategy — can help students process, retain, and connect ideas more deeply. Using the texts The Sketchnote Handbook and Ink and Ideas, you’ll learn how to make thinking visible, foster engagement, and support comprehension through simple drawings, symbols, and text. This course provides hands-on opportunities to practice sketchnoting yourself while designing lessons that bring this strategy into your K-12 classroom. By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped with tools to help students think more creatively, take meaningful notes, and express their understanding in dynamic new ways.
