Course Description
This course provides an advanced look at the theory, design, and implementation of differentiated curriculum. You’ll explore cutting-edge strategies and tools for responsive teaching, using technology to personalize content, process, and assessment. Gain hands-on experience with district student information systems, information literacy, Web 2.0 tools, graphic organizers, and presentation software. Design a differentiated mini-unit enhanced by technology, including an interactive WebQuest or website. Field-based and inquiry-driven, this course challenges you to reflect deeply on your teaching strategies, ensuring they are both effective and engaging for diverse learners.Learner Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:- Demonstrate competence in evaluating the authenticity, reliability, and bias of websites and online resources, using them effectively as tools and resources for enhancing the teaching and learning experience.
- Identify and define Web 2.0 applications, assessing their capabilities for appropriate application into their classroom.
- Apply ISTE Standards to lesson design, incorporating technology in lessons to enhance the teaching and learning experience.
- Use computer applications to create an engaging online learning experience aligned with standards and evaluating outcomes with a rubric.
- Develop skills and strategies for identifying student needs and successfully differentiating/adapting learning experiences to facilitate their success.
