Course Description

Individualized education plans (IEPs) have the potential and responsibility of providing individuals with the highest level of learning opportunities. In this course, the essential steps and vital understandings for team members to create student-centered IEPs are discussed. Differentiating for students’ learning preferences can often seem too complex and complicated for too little gain. This course also provides guidance toward doable differentiation, providing a series of straightforward, high-reward strategies that K–12 educators can successfully use in their daily practice to support, engage, and challenge students with diverse learning styles.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

Write a PLAAFP to support an IEP
Collaborate with other parties to create a successful plan of action for a student
Identify and discuss the four cognitive processing types.
Utilize doable differentiation strategies
