Course Description

This seminar will review how to present and market your services to a physician. Various topics to be covered include: Identify differing areas of medicine, cultural differences in medicine to be considered before approaching a physician, the focus difference in medical family therapy not represented in other behavioral science fields, strategic connections in specialty and primary care, insurance obstacles and bridges, MDFT core competencies, evidence-based research in family-based interventions, and the development of marketing products. Marketing tools will be developed by students and shared with each other.


The Medical Family Therapy Program at Seattle Pacific University invites you to campus to learn more about collaborative health care and the provision of psychosocial and spiritual services to those dealing with chronic illness.
