Course Description

Provides a practical overview of the theory, research, and practice of premarital and remarital therapy. Reviews goals, topics, and formats of premarital therapy within various contexts and settings. Examines issues related to culture, gender, diversity and special populations. Class sessions will be divided between lectures, discussions and practical applications. After taking this course, students will be able to integrate premarital knowledge and interventions in a setting of interest to them.

This course from a recognized institution of higher education meets the requirement as a CE course (WAC 246-809-610) for the Licensed Counselor and Licensed Counselor Associate credentials (marriage and family therapist, mental health counselor, and social worker). Length of One Continuing Education Unit (CEU): 10 Clock Hours.
