Course Description

With Schools becoming increasingly diverse, educational leaders are finding that cultural proficiency-the ability to understand and respect students' cultural dignity-is a crucial component of developing high-performing schools. Based on the book "Culturally Proficient Leadership" by Raymond Terrell and Randall Lindsey, this course explores the broad range of differences in today's schools, examines how cultural experiences influence leadership practice, and discusses essential skills for communicating and collaborating across cultures. The course guides participants through the process of developing a cultural autobiography as a means of exploring their underlying beliefs, assumptions, and backgrounds.
