Course Description

This course will helps participants define and implement effective content methods by covering theory, lesson planning, curriculum mangement and related topics designed for application in a classroom setting to enhance student learning. We will identify the qualities of effective content methods, and use these as themes for our investigation, practice, and improvement. Themes include assessing prior knowledge; integrating student assets; teaching academic language; scaffolding; supporting; deepening; providing and responding to feedback; student reflection; and teacher reflection.

While this course has no formally scheduled class sessions, it does require weekly participation in class bulletin board discussions.

The registration deadline is January 13, 2025 by the end of the day.

Refund Policy: Withdrawals submitted online through SPU prior to the first class session will receive a 100% refund. Withdrawals submitted online within 7 days of the first class session will receive a 95% refund. Withdrawals received after that point will not receive a refund and no withdrawals will be accepted after the last class session.
