Course Description

Addresses the fundamentals of ethical, legal and social issues that school information personnel face in grades K-12. Explores the role of the information specialist in collaboration with teachers, development and delivery of information literacy curriculum, planning to meet current standards in information literacy as well as content areas, meeting the needs of teachers, students, parents, and the community, and preparing for ethical, legal, and social information challenges as an educational leader.  Aids in understanding the broader implications in the school environment and society as they relate to education.

While this course has no formally scheduled class sessions, it does require weekly participation in class bulletin board discussions. Please note that the course will not show up in your Canvas account until the start date.


Refund Policy: Withdrawals submitted online through SPU prior to the first class session will receive a 100% refund. Withdrawals submitted online within 7 days of the first class session will receive a 95% refund. Withdrawals received after that point will not receive a refund and no withdrawals will be accepted after the last class session.
