EDU 5937 - Individualized Travel Study for Academic, Professional and Personal Growth
Course Description
Students may register for this course after they submit and receive approval for their travel study plan. Course registration must be accomplished prior to the intended travel. Please email the Distance Learning office at dlinfo@spu.edu for more information.
This course provides opportunity for independent study in individually chosen fields and locations. It is open to graduate students, classroom K-12 teachers, college teachers, teacher consultants, teacher specialists, administrators and others who are interested in study during travel both in the United States and internationally.
Course Outline
This program of individual travel study endorses Seattle Pacific University's general goals and requires individually set goals and objectives.
The student is required to:
- Develop an individualized study plan according to the course guidelines.
- Submit the plan to the instructor and upon approval of the plan.
- Register for the course and conduct the study at the location of the travel.
- At the end of the travel, the student will submit the required assignments demonstrating the completion of the plan. Requirements include the travel study plan, a daily journal, individually selected readings, an application project, and a concise written evaluation of the experience and proof of travel.

Travel study provides on-site opportunities for academic, professional and personal growth.
