Course Description

Overwhelmed by what you are supposed to conference with your writers about besides spelling and punctuation?  This is the class for you.  Participants will examine the 3 types of writing; opinion, informative and narrative and the grade level progression from K-5.  In addition, you will learn how to diagnose writing quickly and effectively, and hone in on typical issues for students at each grade level.  Most excitingly, participants will create a toolkit full of lessons to teach, mentor texts to use, writing tools to help students, and teacher writing to use as demonstration texts. Grades K-5.
