Course Description

Do you want to know how to implement authentic STEM teaching and learning into your classroom? STEM Lesson Essentials provides all the tools and strategies you will need to design integrated lessons that are relevant and engaging to your students. The authors argue that STEM is not a curriculum, but rather a way to organize instruction by weaving science, technology, engineering and mathematics together in intentional ways.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Answer fundamental questions about the nature and goals of STEM
  • Understand the guiding principles for effective STEM instruction
  • Describe curricular approaches to integrating STEM into classrooms.

This course is equivalent to EDCT 5352 and EDCT 5667 and cannot be taken if either of these courses has been successfully completed.
