Course Description

Designed for teachers and teacher candidates seeking an endorsement in choral music, this course offers a survey of choral music programs, grades 5-12. Emphasis placed on the examination of appropriate teaching materials, teaching methods for various program levels, program planning and development, and evaluation of learner progress. Experience in planning and presenting model learning experiences in instrumental music is provided.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of the course students should be able to articulate and satisfy competencies and standards related to Choral Music as outlined by the State of Washington Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB).


Professional experience and/or degree in music or music education.
