Course Description

This course will briefly review important skills for creating clear learning targets and process skill goals, choosing relevant models, evaluating types of questions to use in various portions of a guided inquiry activity, deciding where to cue students to report our their answers for formative assessment, providing extension questions to differentiate for gifted/talented students, and checking the reading level of draft activities. Participants will write, receive feedback on, and revise two or three mini-activities. Instructors who have already been writing guided inquiry activities for their courses will benefit from the expert writing coaching available in this course.

Notes

This course may be taken for credit or clock hours. Clock hours are available under CEU 3889.

Prerequisites

EDSC 5715 or CEU 3802 must be completed before registering for this course. This requirement ensures adequate mastery of the basic guided inquiry activity writing, process skills, and classroom facilitation skills need to succeed in this advanced writing course.
